Pete Whitehouse – Managing Director

Pete Whitehouse, Managing Director

Pete has a financial background, completing a B Comm. from UCT before studying with the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants with whom he is an ACMA. After spending 8 years in the corporate market in Analyst and Financial management roles, he followed his entrepreneurial instincts and started CA Financial Appointments. Pete has remained involved with the brand through various shareholding changes, thereby ensuring the culture of the company has not changed as it has grown.

Brendon Lezar – General Manager

Brendon, branch manager

Brendon Lezar initiated his career in the service delivery driven industry of Hospitality where he spent 7 years employed in a senior management capacity with an award winning 5 star luxury hotel group.

In 1997, he moved to the UK where he entered the field of accounting in a contracting capacity. After 2 years, Brendon partnered up with 2 individuals and opened a financial recruitment company in London.

After 5 years of successful trading, he sold the company in 2003 and returned to South Africa and joined up with CA Financial Appointments. Having spent almost seven years with CA, Brendon was able to establish an excellent rapport with a select group of the company’s blue-chip clientele. Brendon has become a shareholder within CA. He still actively recruits for key clients where he has established himself as their leading provider of Accounts and Finance staffing solutions.

Chantel Patrick – Financial Manager

Chantel, Financial Manager

Chantel graduated in 2006 from False Bay College with a National Diploma in Financial Management. After graduating she has gained experience in the Education Sector ,exporting and the motor Industry. Chantel joined CA in 2008.

Gill Borrett – Consultant









Gill initiated her career in the travel and tourism industry before joining the banking industry. She has 8 years of solid Recruitment experience including Finance and FMCG related positions, having worked in both agency as well as a JSE listed company as Internal Recruiter and HR Officer. She has a passion for providing a top class service to both clients and candidates.

Gill has joined CA focusing on the Financial Services sector.

Cathy Symmonds – Consultant

Cathy, recruitment consultant

Cathy initiated her recruitment career in the UK back in 2004. She specialized in the medical recruitment industry working with both NHS and private healthcare clients primarily in the Greater London area. Within a four year period, Cathy’s efforts were justifiably rewarded as she was promoted to the company’s management structure. After seven years in the UK, Cathy decided to return home to South Africa, joining CA in August 2008 having been made an offer of employment by us whilst still in the UK. Cathy’s consistency and ability to maintain a clear focus on both her candidates’ and clients’ needs are strengths that have seen her excel in her role as the branch’s only Perm & Temp Recruiter. Cathy has a sincere passion for the recruitment industry and enjoys the variety and challenges of recruiting across the temp/perm spectrum.

Jackie Cullen – Consultant







Jackie has completed an Honours in Psychology at the University of Pretoria, she started her career in the recruitment industry in 2007, with the majority of her career being in external recruitment. She describes herself as a specialist recruiter sourcing top talent in the Finance, IT and HR sectors.  Her passion and professionalism drive her to provide an outstanding service to both clients and candidates alike.

Stuart Welch – Consultant










Stuart lived and worked in the UK for 10 years in the reinsurance industry before returning to South Africa in 1994. He thenjoined a small FMCG company as a sales representative until retrenchment put him back onto the job market in 1996. He was offered an opportunity to give recruitment a try and started his recruitment career within a specialist agency in Johannesburg where he found his passion for the industry. In 2005, after working for various agencies he was fortunate enough to be given the chance to work as a recruiter in Dubai for a top end retail chain. After a year he moved to Cape Town and was offered a position at CA as a contract specialist consultant where he began placing financial professionals in both permanent and contract roles. He assists individuals looking for short to medium term assignments, to help hone their already impressive skills, and aids large corporate companies looking to fill urgent needs with skilled, knowledgeable, individuals.

Kelly Reid – Consultant










Kelly is a very hard working candidate focused consultant, with vast experience within the recruitment industry. She started off in the recruitment industry in 2011 within the Mining Sector and realised she had a passion for assisting people with their careers and making a difference in their lives as well as working with international clients. She excelled within the Mining Sector and became a specialist recruiter within 2 years. She then decided to broaden her knowledge within the recruitment sector and went  on to recruit for the Pharmaceutical Industry which was a great challenge in which she thrived and was very successful.

She has now joined CA within the Financial Services Sector to work more closely with her clients and candidates within the Cape Town Area.

Zelmari van Eden – Research Consultant










Zelmari is a highly motivated, service driven individual. After completing her National Diploma in Public Relations, she initiated her career as a recruitment consultant within the Pharmaceutical industry. From the outset of her career she was involved in the development of a Pharmaceutical division. During this time she gained valuable experience and knowledge on the workings of the recruitment industry.  She has since made the decision to broaden her knowledge of the recruitment sector, in order to develop professionally and has moved into the Financial Services industry.

Vinola, company administrator

Vinola graduated in 2001 from False Bay College with a National Diploma as a Management Assistant. She initiated her career in the Education sector where she developed her skill-set within the Human Resources discipline, adding value as an HR Assistant, whilst studying Financial Management on a part-time basis. In 2007, Vinola was approached by CA and offered an opportunity to join the company in an Office Administrator capacity.

Stephnie began her career in Recruitment ±8 years ago, where she was hired as a Recruitment Administrator in a Generalist Agency. Prior to this, she had a solid administrative career, having worked in her previous industry for over ±12 years as an Office Administrator. She ensures that the face of the company is always maintained well above standard, ensuring at all times that the candidates and clients are welcomed with a smile. She handles all coordination and administrative tasks, ensuring that no stone goes unturned.

Pat Stinton – Consultant

P Stinton final

Pat commenced her career in recruitment 16 years ago, specialising in temporary and contract financial positions. In between she has gained 5 years experience in fund accounting to gain a better understanding of the industry. Prior to commencing recruitment Pat worked as an accountant for various large companies in JHB. Pat joined the temp team at CA in June 2007.

Shelley Moss – Consultant

Shelley Moss







Shelley started off as a Recruitment Consultant in 2011 and specialised in the Mining Industry throughout Africa. Shortly after she began supervising her own team which excelled in billings within their first year. She loved the client interaction during large Mining Indabas though, as majority of her clients were based outside of Cape Town, and therefore quickly desired a role where she was more in touch with her clients.

She joined Contract Accountants due to it being a reputable company that specialises in Finance and servicing the Cape Town Market. It has allowed her to utilise her client skills and she thrives in being able to assist them on a personal level
