Qualified CA(SA) with 5 years post article experience. He completed his articles with a Big4 firm and then went on to advance his career in Group Financial Reporting. He presents as a talented and well-rounded professional with expert experience in the IFRS technical accounting field. He enjoys waking up each morning to solve new and exciting problems; and to empower his colleagues and clients and to learn something new. He currently works for one of the Big4 firms and specializes in supporting the sub-Saharan African mining, retail, and financial services industries on technical accounting matters. He is a member of several local and global subject matter expert groups for the leases (IFRS16) and insurance accounting for short term insurers (IFRS17) standards. Other specialist topic areas are revenue (IFRS15) and business combination (IFRS10). He uses his experience to provide both training and enablement services, as well as quality and risk reviews. Outside of the workplace, he loves exploring the outdoors with his family and friends, and tutoring university CTA students to remain abreast of technical standards developments.
