Assistant Accountant

A fantastic opportunity is available for an Assistant Accountant in the Import & Export industry. You will manage account payables and receivables, update monthly reports, complete tax returns, and maintain financial records.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes accounts payables and receivables
  • Collaborate with Financial Managers and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks
  • Update monthly reports on excel (cashbook, VAT etc)
  • Complete tax returns (EMP201, VAT201, ITR14 etc)
  • Maintain company ledgers and daily financial transactions (Pastel Partner and Xero)
  • Create financial documents such as bills, invoices, pay-orders, payables, receivables and purchase orders
  • Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them
  • Manage payroll activities and release salaries (at times)
  • Coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors and vendors
  • Verify payments and deposits made through the company account and coordinate with the bank
  • Create daily reports for management and team members
  • Other various administrative tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification 
  • 3-5 years experience in accounting
