Finance Manager

An award winning tourism entity that works across Africa is seeking a Finance Manager. Their offices are based in Westlake, Cape Town and the environment is dynamic, fun with solid team members. In this role you will be responsible for a team that manages the day to day financial activities of the business. You will also be responsible for advising and guiding management with future financial plans. There is a lot of scope for growth in this role for individuals driven to grow. Responsibilities:

  • Produce and evaluate monthly performance and check all balance sheet accounts
  • Verify correct liquidity, and investment opportunities to maximize earnings
  • Prepare annual budget, forecasting and planning for financial needs, ensure it aligns with the organizations goals
  • Verify compliance with financial regulations and standards, manage risk assessments
  • Organize and manage internal and external audits, provide timely and accurate information and promptly address audit findings
  • Compare company’s financial performance against budget and goals, identifying areas for cost saving and improvements
  • Develop financial strategies to support long-term business objectives
  • Communicate with investors, banks, financial stakeholders, ensure transparent communication and build strong relationships
  • Manage tax planning and compliance with all laws and regulations, ensure tax liabilities are minimized
  • Guide and develop finance staff, provide professional development opportunities
  • Assess and apply financial systems and tools that improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Analyze revenue streams and profitability, provide insight to support strategic decisions
  • Analyze and negotiate financial aspect of contracts with suppliers, customers, and partners

Requirements: 

  • Must have undergraduate qualification in Financial Accounting Financial Management recognized by SAQA
  • Must be trained and have working knowledge of QuickTrav, BSP, Word and Excel 
  • Must have 5 years working experience as FM, 3 years experience within the travel industry and managing staff
