Senior Accountant

Our client who operates in the Insurance sector, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3 years post articles experience, ideally within the Financial Services industry with IFRS17 and long term insurance exposure. 

Responsibilities:

• Accounting to Trial Balance
• Assist with Payroll and HR queries
• Perform review procedures on Financial Analysis – Income, Expense, and related analytical reports  
• Debtors/Creditors & Income/Expenses
• Perform review procedures on Fixed Asset Register, Excel – Review balance and calculation ensure the FAR agrees to the Trial Balance
• Prepare IFRS16 related calculations
• Budget & Forecast 
• Payroll and Payroll reporting, salaries and wages
• Perform review procedures on EMP501 submissions, on Easy file – in line with EMP501 submissions

Requirements:

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification
• Completed SAICA articles
• 3+ years post-article experience
• Minimum of 1-2 years post-qualification experience in Payroll
• Applied knowledge of IFRS
