Qualified CA(SA) with relevant financial services experience who is able to work well under pressure whilst maintaining strong attention to detail. This position will require excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing controls and processes in order to minimize the risk of inaccurate valuation of instruments
  • Reviewing/producing daily exception reporting to identify valuation discrepancies on various types of financial instruments
  • Investigating the status of stale/illiquid/delisted/suspended securities in order to identify assets for which valuation adjustments need to be processed, or assets that need to be removed from the accounting records
  • Assist in obtaining valuation sources and implement processes for the pricing of new instruments as part of the new instrument approval process
  • Reviewing instrument valuations on a regular basis to ensure pricing complies with industry best practice, regulations as well as SLAs
  • Understand the pricing process of the outsourced service providers and suggest and implement changes where necessary
  • Investigating performance queries relating to valuations
  • Being the point of contact for any valuation related queries
  • Take a leading role in the Global Valuations Committee to ensure consistency across the various geographies
  • Pricing OTC instruments in various valuation models in Bloomberg as a secondary check on valuations provided by outsourced service providers
  • Providing guidance and oversight to junior team member in relation to payment confirmation process for unlisted credit instruments and other credit fund related
  • Overseeing the computation of fees, including management fees, as well as the computation of the monthly & quarterly fund distributions
  • Assist the team in managing relationships with outsourced service providers across multiple geographies
  • Assist in addressing queries from the rest of the business as well as clients, in an efficient and effective manner

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA(SA) with articles at Big 4
  • CFA or studying towards an advantage
  • 1 – 2 years post experience within financial services industry in related role
  • Knowledge of IFRS
