Candidate Profile for a Finance Director

A CA(SA) and CFA Level 3 pass with 20 years’ experience in financial services, spanning unsecured credit, strategic financial management, and executive leadership. She is currently a Finance Director for a large financial services business, providing strategic financial leadership to the Exco, CEO, and Board, chairing key governance committees, and leading the finance, data analytics, and legal teams, with responsibility for budgeting, treasury and funding, tax, risk, and regulatory reporting. Notable achievements include leading the successful resolution of a dispute with the tax authority that saved the business hundreds of millions of rand, securing approval for a new VAT apportionment methodology that materially reduced the business’s VAT expense, and leading the adoption of several major new accounting standards. Prior to this, she held senior finance leadership roles at other large retail and financial services businesses, leading teams of up to 30 staff.
