Candidate Profile for a Group Financial Reporting Manager

A CA(SA) with over a decade of experience across Big4 audit and international group finance, most recently spending seven years at the London head office of a large luxury hospitality group operating 16 properties across the UK and Europe with annual revenue in excess of £300m. Progressing from Group Financial Reporting Accountant to Group Financial Reporting Manager, he owned the multi-currency group consolidation across approximately 30 legal entities in 10 jurisdictions, led the end-to-end external audit and annual IFRS financial statements with no reportable audit misstatements across multiple cycles, and prepared board-level reporting for the Board, Finance & Investment Committee and Audit & Risk Committee, where he also served as interim Secretary. His remit grew well beyond core reporting to include corporate financial controllership across 13 head office departments, UK corporate tax, impairment reviews, group insurance renewals and trademark management, as well as playing a key role in the migration to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and the wider finance digitisation roadmap. This follows audit training where he co-managed a team of 15+ professionals on one of the firm’s largest global clients and earned an Outstanding rating. Known for strong ownership, dependability and a hands-on, trust-based leadership style, he is relocating to Cape Town and is looking for a senior group finance, financial management or financial controllership role with broad commercial exposure, ideally within the hospitality sector, while remaining open to the wider commercial market.
