Cape Town, Southern Suburbs

Senior Accountant

The Opportunity
This isn’t a role for someone who wants to process invoices and disappear into a spreadsheet. It’s the chance to be the senior finance mind in a South African business that answers to an international head office, the person leadership, both locally and in Europe, turns to for clarity, control and commercial judgement.
You’ll run the finance function end-to-end, with direct visibility into how a fast-growing renewable energy business is built, funded and reported across borders

This is an opportunity to join a close-knit, founder-run business in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs, where finance sits right at the centre of how the business runs day to day. It’s a practical, all-rounder role in an environment that values getting things done as much as technical polish.
What you’ll be doing

Owning the full accounting cycle across multiple related companies, from general ledger through to month and year-end.
Leading a small finance team and acting as a key point of contact for other departments.
Reviewing cashbooks, credit cards, and petty cash, and keeping financial controls tight.

Handling monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, and chasing down variances quickly.
Taking care of statutory and SARS submissions (VAT201, EMP201) via e-Filing.
Reviewing payroll for accuracy and compliance (processing itself is outsourced).
Preparing budgets, forecasts, and weekly cash flow, and tracking performance against plan.
